Sleepy Hollow Social Club Meeting

Registration

Registration is closed

Sleepy Hollow & Friends!

Please join us 4:30-6:00 to discuss, plan and put some fun events and activities into motion!  We will provide sparkling water and wine.  Bring a nibble to share!

The Sleepy Hollow Social Club is a diverse group of volunteer SHHA & Friends of the Pool members who are ambassadors for our community.  We hope to broaden our reach and offering even more but need your help!  We are looking for leads across all age and interest groups - please help us spread the word!

UPCOMING EVENTS - WHO WOULD LIKE TO HELP US LEAD/PLAN?

First Friday Social August 4th:  Aya is out of town - would someone like to lead?  These can be as involved or as low touch as you'd like them to be!  Leads get to decide!

End of Summer Social August 26th 5-9pm:  This is our 3rd and final summer social with live music and dinner.

3rd Annual Cornhole Tournament September 16th 2-6pm:  Chris Higgins is the lead but we thought we could pair this with a COOK OFF - BBQ, Chili, Apps, or a combo could be fun too!

HOLLOWeen Pumpkin Carving Event October 29th:  This is a super fun family event, especially for the little kids, with kids activities, pumpkin carving and hopefully a reading of the Legend of Sleepy Hollow.  Last year this was a carving, pizza and movie night.  Since it's on a Sunday,  thinking of shifting it earlier in the day and making a family fun day out of it.  Weather permitting, maybe a petting zoo, jump house, have kid bands play, etc.

From our last meeting:

There are several ideas discussed with identified LEADs, which is so awesome and exactly what is needed to make things happen, so this is where we will start!  Please review the following ideas highlighted in yellow in the Sleepy Hollow Social Club doc and input "GROUP" where you'd like to be involved in - to PLAN and EXECUTE programming.  If you have specific questions, email the LEAD!

Want to be a LEAD or hold a specific event?  Take a look at some of the ideas we discussed that don't have a LEAD or add your own interest!  LEADS for Baby - 5th Graders needed!

LEADS - THANK YOU!!  Please use the email addresses to communicate and plan with your groups.  Once you have event timing and details mostly worked out, let me know and I will assist with scheduling, marketing, etc.

We did talk about offering programs that weren't so specific and/or pairing them with other events to attract a broader group, so if you see something where that applies, let's consider it!

First Friday Socials - let's bring these back!  These can be stand alone, byo picnics or themed with use of grill, catering, pairing with family or adult game night, etc!  The first is 7/7, a few days after 4th of July festivities but if anyone has the enthusiasm to take the lead, please do!  Input "LEAD" if you'd like to lead this or anyo future FFS.

American Mah Jong.  LEAD - Melissa Li.  Melissa & Kiyomi will begin hosting weekly American Mah Jong Thursdays 1-3pm.

Kids Cultural Classes.  LEAD - Kiyomi Hutchings.  Kiyomi will begin offering weekly Japanese culture classes for kids (ages tbd but probably 4th grade and older).  If you are from or passionate about another culture you'd like to share with our younger community, input GROUP or LEAD!

Needle Work.  LEAD - Melissa Li

Sleepy Hollow Sitters.  LEAD - Sandra Murtagh

Movie Nights (18+, not kids).  LEAD - Andy Witkowski

Family Field Game Day.  LEAD - Singh & Mark Hurrie

Middle School Events & Activities.  LEAD - Shanti Putnam

Run to the Heavens Race.  LEAD - Chuck Leone.  This was an epic event that took place several years ago we hope to run again!  Need a small committee to make this happen!

This is a fun way to get involved, become a community contributor and meet new people!

Contact Aya at shhaevents@gmail.com with any questions.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Thank you,

Jenn & Aya
